林子波教授

香港大学获数学学士学位

加拿大英属哥伦比亚大学获数学博士学位

       林子波教授即是数学家又是会计师。他在加拿大英属哥伦比亚大学获数学博士学位之后开始在加拿大的会计师生涯。他在那取得了注册会计师资格并从事公共会计十五年之后回到香港浸会大学成为一名数学系的教师。

    自1989年回到香港浸会大学之后的16年里，林子波教授针对不同水平的学生教授过多种不同的数学方面的课程。特别是自1991年起，他就单独承担起保险精算的教学任务，这门课最后发展为“Life Insurance and Life Contingencies”。除此之外，他还教过统计，运筹学，模拟及数论。

       林子波教授的研究领域是图论，特别是在带宽问题、可着色性与可选性问题、及图标问题作出了突出的贡献，已在国际上相关的期刊发表过65篇以上的文章。同时，他也得到来自香港浸会大学及香港政府的各种研究基金。

    自2007年2月起，林子波教授成为 UIC 的一员，在此教授数学及会计课程，同时也承担起发展保险精算这一学科的重任。
