Larry obtained his B. Sc. and M. Sc. in mathematics from Shanxi University (1995) and Beijing Normal University (1998) in China. He went to Canada in September 1998 and earned his PhD in mathematical statistics at the University of Regina in 2002. From May 2002 and May 2004, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Massey University (Palmerston North campus) New Zealand. He was appointed as a Lecturer at Massey University in June 2004 (for six-month contract on PN campus and then an on-going contract on Wellington campus.) On 1 July 2011, he joined the Division of Science and Technology of UIC as an Associate Professor. He has published 20 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals. ˇ@
