General Undergraduate Admission Requirements
For Non-Mainland Applicants:
A. Students from Hong Kong / Macau
An applicant must EITHER¡ª
1. a) obtain Grade E or above in at least six subjects* in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination including Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B)** with at least five subjects in a single sitting; and
b) have satisfactorily completed Form 6 in Hong Kong;
OR¡ª
2. have graduated from a Macau secondary school;
OR¡ª
3. obtain a qualification deemed to be equivalent.
* 5 subjects are acceptable if the total of these 5 grades is not less than 8 points (grade A to E shall be given the values of 5 to 1 respectively for the purpose of calculating the points).
** Grade C in English Language (Syllabus A) is considered equivalent to Grade E in English Language (Syllabus B).
Preference will be given to candidates who possess Hong Kong Advanced Level Examinations results. Associate Degree holders may apply for direct admission to year 3.
B. Students from overseas other than Hong Kong / Macau
An applicant from overseas other than Hong Kong / Macau may apply for admission with qualification acceptable to the University, and will be considered on an individual basis.
C. Disabled Applicants
The UIC views applications from students with a disability on an equal basis with other students.? There are certain programmes of study with inherent requirements that mitigate against students with particular physical limitations being admitted.? Applicants with a disability are requested to indicate the nature of their disability on the application forms.? It will not affect the chances of their admission, provided that the programmes applied for are those the applicants are physically able to cope with.
For Mainland Applicants:
Students who have sat at the People¡¯s Republic of China College Entrance Examination of the current year and have met the college entrance benchmark are eligible to apply.
